Greetings Zahra, how do you do?
Just had to write a poem to you
thanks to you and the team
for really making things easy
the day of my dads funeral
he's gone to heaven not hell
greeted with your smile
set at ease all the while
my dads medals rattling away
hope they didn't cause dismay
big microphone in front of me
made a point of speaking slowly
Listened to Good morning Wales
many times when in range
Oliver and the whole team
the ultimate in listening easy
lots of interesting things too
never bored listening to you
summertime's am away from here
doing my stuff as festival cheer
got the summer all booked up
Glastonbury, Boomtown, luck
if the weathers real sunny
not so much fun if it's muddy
a real shame about my mum
after 64 years, without husband
she's going to be alone soon
when the family go back to do
their work done day to day
she's gonna miss the family
my sis came from Canada
Vancouver is really quite far
her two boys, husband too
from Heathrow this morn they flew
n my bro is always so far
flying the world raising design bars
And it just occurred to me
If you indeed liked my poetry
in honour of my hero dad
who's passing made hundreds sad
happy to write some for you
to empower and to lift the blues
I can write about anything
my words, am told are dancing
can write on the spot too
I have no problem with impromptu
personality too just like my dad
all I need is a writing pad
then I need not summer tour
my lonely mum, be close to her
I could self publish my stuff
and make just a little luck
I'm just so content anyway
every day is a great day
I'm so grateful for everything
my amazing life does bring
thanks to stormy, my dad
for his friendship, was so glad
and thanks to Oliver and the crew
only one thing left to say to you all
Love you.
