though sorry to report he's fading fast
things don't work like they should
his legs, eyes and brain: understood?
It's his last christmas on earth sadly
so from me you get some poetry
boxing day matches were a family thing
but with Dads catalog of suffering
we have been unable to come
did my best, but difficulty walking
from the car park cross the road
so sadly been forced to stay at home
we got him to the FA cup final but
since then hes been out of luck
the new stadium is fantastic but
oldies, on last legs are out of luck
he only felt up for it two times
last minute tickets, stairs to climb
or a view from ground level
not good when eyesight from hell
he is a star in the spotlight
two trials at Ninnian Park, days gone by
you wouldn't sign him, too ancient
27, the war took his better days
also 2 up on lambrettas too
off to Chelsea to support you
6 hours in the pouring rain
to you and me it sounds insane
many other highs and lows
two uncles now gone, dad, me
my Brother in law too,
i brought them all in
with my Maxi austin
I know its effecting my dad bad
people falling around him, well sad
especially when a lot younger than him
i'm sure it really gets him thinking
so could you sort two tickets please?
car park ticket more important for me
I really dont mind paying for them
to carry on the boxing day tradition
and a happy christmas, one and all
still top in may, gonna have a ball
and big love to the Malaysians too
without them we'd be royally screwed
