This is actually a paper that I wrote for a class in highschool:
What is the meaning of love? Well, would you die for the one you loved? If not, you better think again. I believe that there is someone for everyone in this world. Someone that each of us will love like no other. A love so true, strong, and powerful, that it can prevail through all of the trials and tribulations life throws at you. A love so real, so close to perfection, that your two souls touch, and "it's not just love, it's life, it's true, it's happiness..."
It takes a long time to find and achieve this love. Many people go a lifetime without finding true love. And there will be many tears, mistakes, and broken hearts along the way; but once that level of greatness, and of love is made, the bond is eternal.
I believe that along this journey, we will love many, but there are different kinds of love. As well as loss,... But if you do, once you find "the one", you will know it and feel it in the depths of your soul. And all of the past tears shed, and pain endured, will have been worth it.
And, you can't just be in love with "being in love," it's not the same as the real thing. When it happens, you'll know it.
... Love isn't sex, love isn't infatuation, love isn't lust...
Love, is the most wonderful feeling in this entire world.
Some people aren't "big" on the Bible... but I'd like to share an awesome chapter with you, on the meaning of love... :
"If I speak in human and angelic tounges but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, (love) is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek it's own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails. If there are prophecies, they will be brought to nothing; if tounges, they will cease; if knowledge, it will be brought to nothing. For we know partially and we prophesy partially, but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. When I was a child, I used to talk as a child, think as a child, reason as a child; when I became a man, I but aside childish things.
At present we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face. At present, I know partially; then I shall know fully, as I am fully known. So faith, hope, and love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love."
(1 Corinthians, 13)
That is beauty, that is love.
