I come home to shouting
I get dragged in to the fight
I don’t know what it’s about
Why it happened
But it’s my fight now
I yell and scream
For hours this goes on but finally
I win
The yelling ends, I can’t breathe
I leave, into a quiet room,
Locking myself in
I turn off the lights
Dark, darkness surrounds me
It’s not enough
I still hear the yelling
Blare, I blare my music
Loud, deafening, I try to forget
Anger boils in my blood
Rage I can’t stand it
I hit the softness of my pillow
Pounding it till my rage has fled
The music gets turned down
The lights go on
The door unlocks
I come out
It’s time for the day to begin again
