The earth was not as we knew it anymore. All the cities were deserted. Buildings were full of rust, as if no one had lived there for centuries. Temperatures on earth were on average 50 degrees Celsius. There were no glaciers left. There were no poles. Oceans had almost evaporated completely. There were no humans left. All living things seemed to be gone. Except for one, a brown bloodhound. He has been out there alone, walking through the streets trying to find someone or something, for days now. Far away, he saw that something moved. He shouted, “Is someone there!” and a fox came out. “What happened? Were is everyone?” the fox said. “I don’t know” the hound said, “I have been out here alone for days now”. The hound had enough food stored to last a few weeks; maybe months, and he agreed to give half of it to the fox. He even invited the fox to stay with him. The next morning the hound woke up and the fox was gone. He took all of the food, leaving the hound with nothing. The hound felt betrayed and angry. “I offered my home and my food, and this is how he pays me” he thought. But what the fox didn’t know was that bloodhounds are excellent trackers due to their perfect sense of smell. The hound hurried and started tracking the fox. “I hope he is not far,” he thought. The hound followed the fox’s tracks for days without success. The hound was ready to give up, but suddenly he saw the fox far away in a small pond drinking water. There was a storm coming, so the hound used the sound of the thunder to go unnoticed for the food. The hound got the food and quickly ran away. The fox saw this and started to chase the hound. The fox cached up to the hound and said, “I’m sorry, it was my survival instinct. It was not my intention to steal from you and leave you there to die”. The hound didn’t care and he continued to run and run, until the fox was nowhere to be seen. The fox learned that you should never betray someone that is helping you, and also not to be selfish because “what goes around comes around”.
