Me and my high school sweetheart,
Two young lovers meant to last forever,
Love could never feel so good,
Especially when we were together.
Then one day, my love came to class,
With a glisting tear within her eye,
She handed me a neatly folded letter,
Thats when she started to cry.
I looked at her with fear in my heart,
What is it that these words would do,
To this heart that loves her so,
I knew that this love was to good to be true.
As I opened it and read slowly,
The words I feared came true,
"baby I'm leaving tomorrow, but remeber....
I will always love you".
As my tears splatter upon the page,
The letters of pain run together,
My life has been crushed in an instant,
I will feel like this forever.
As the bell rings to end the day,
My hand slips slowly from the one I've held,
Our eyes meet until she has vanished,
Now she's jus a story that I tell.
I slip the note into my pocket,
And soak into my tears,
I will never find another true love,
Even trough my lasting years.
Years have come, and they have gone,
As I sit In a chair within a park,
I watch the birds gather around,
In the distance I hear dogs bark.
I notice a woman, walking heavenly,
Her hair waves lighly in the wind,
The beauty strikes me, like when I was a teen,
Remebering my high school girlfriend.
As she comes closer to where I'm sitting,
I think I have seen her before,
It was coming much more clearer,
What it was about her that, I adore.
That's when her eye's gleem into mine,
Giving me assurance that it was true,
That my love was walking towards me,
I don't know what to say or do.
"Do you remeber me?" I asked hoping that she would,
As she looked at me with her beautiful eyes,
"I'm sorry sir, but I don't." she said,
I was so excited I could cry.
As I reach into my pocket,
I pulled out a stained piece of paper,
Folded as neatly as the day I got it,
And kept in my pocket to be safer.
She opened it, When tears flood into her eyes,
She couldn't believe it was true,
"Baby I'm leaving tomorrow, but remeber....
I will always love you."
