Tonight’s UFC 223, 224, 225 pay-per-view event was expected to be headlined by a featherweight title fight between current champ Max Holloway and top contender Frankie Edgar. UFC featherweight champion Cris "Cyborg" Santos (19-1, 1 NC) will defend her title for the second time in 63 days when she takes on newcomer Yana Kunitskaya (10-3, 1 NC) in the main event of UFC 223, 224, 225 on Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Saturday will be a busy one for sports–especially in MMA and boxing. In addition to UFC 223, 224, 225, Showtime (Deontay Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz at 9 pm ET) and HBO (Sergey Kovalev vs. Igor Mikhalkin at 10:05 pm ET) will broadcast world championship fights.
The price of UFC 223, 224, 225 in the US is $1.00.
The price of UFC 223, 224, 225 in Luxembourg is $29.00.
The price of UFC 223, 224, 225 in Singapore is $29.00.
These two cards shouldn't impact UFC 223, 224, 225's viewership during the prelims, but there is a chance fans of both sports could bolt when Wilder and Ortiz climb into the ring sometime around 10:15 pm ET. The Kovalev-Mikhalkin bout could be less of an issue because it starts later, though the co-feature Dmitry Bivol and Sullivan Barrera is an interesting one for hardcore boxing fans. Combat sports are the most obvious potential conflict, but UFC 223, 224, 225's biggest competition will likely come from basketball. Not only are the Boston Celtics taking on the Houston Rockets in a high-profile regular-season matchup at 8:30 pm ET on ABC, North Carolina vs. Duke (8:15-10:15) and UCLA vs. USC (10:15-12:15) on ESPN runs straight through the FS1 prelims and PPV main card. On Sunday morning, mixed martial arts’ premier promotion will third pay-per-view card of the year
Headlining the UFC’s first Las Vegas card of the year is a women’s featherweight bout between champion Cris ‘Cyborg’ and Russian Yana Kunitskaya, who will be making her debut in the promotion.
UFC 223, 224, 225’s co-main event of the evening features a pivotal featherweight clash between former lightweight king Frankie Edgar and the undefeated Bryan Ortega.
Also on the card is a heavyweight matchup between Stefan Struve and the division’s former ruler Andre Arlovski.
