...God sounds too good to be true,

God sounds a lot like you...



The last time I went to church, I swear I saw that same priest the night before,

He was the decrepit man dressed in black who robbed the convenient store.

The last time I ate the body of Christ, I nearly puked,

For I was admiring a hero who was merely a fluke.



Say your prayers,

Drink your wine,

Perform your dares,

Confess your crime.

Live your dreams,

Eat your bread,

Nothing is really what it seems,

Where exactly do we go once we're dead?



God seems to fake to be real,

God was invented by Man, just like the wheel.

God sounds too powerful to be sincere,

God is a false illusion constructed for us puppets to live in fear.

God sounds too modern to be around forever,

God seems to carry the weight of the universe yet is as light as a feather.

God sounds too fictional to even dread,

God is nothing more than the fears harbored in your head.



...And I thought to myself that God sounds too great to be true,

Then I came to a realization that He draws many parallels to you...



The last time I went to mass, I should have escaped,

For the altar boy was the same corrupted soul in the newspaper that, by the messenger of God, was ridiculously raped.

The last time I drank the blood of Jesus, I nearly cried,

For I was serving a leader who had only bled red blood and lied.



Count your sins,

Drink your wine,

No one wins,

Eternity has no time.

Live your nightmare,

Eat your bread,

One last prayer,

Then you're forever dead.



God sounds too hallow to feel,

God's true self He will never reveal.

God sounds too lustrous to be dim,

God did not create Man, We created Him.

God sounds too much like a cartoon character to be taken as genuine,

God lives in that blissful community that will never be mine.

God sounds too mysterious to ever be able to find,

God is nothing more that the pseudo morals planted in your mind.



...And then it all started to make sense, God sounds too perfect to be true,

I've finally figured it out, God must be you!...
