I aspire to hold you in tranquil adoration
While not holding you back from your aspirations
Above you I stand to keep you safe below
Yet never in the way of where you need to go
I touch your neck and stroke your fur
While you arch your back and start to purr
I'm so delighted to have you near me
I get nervous thinking you might fear me
Mistaking these feelings of mine for lust
Making it that much harder to trust
And filling your mind with apprehension
