It's like Guns N Roses and the november rain
It will be a long december as I deal with this pain
I stopped counting crows, instead I count the memories
And I continue on, carrying your love with me
My love for you was longer than the bering strait
It knew no bounds, and it had no gates
If I had your phone, I'd carry two phones with me
Because nothing else is left, other than some memories
All my life I was waiting for someone like you
Like KC and Jojo and their famous tune
I'm not a Kardashian, I don't have a show or any law degrees
But what I do have, are the memories
I have "you are not alone" playing on repeat
Reminiscing the days I lived in Jackson, Mississippi
My good old days, they are behind me
Like Macklemore, all I have left are the memories
These feelings are as hard to hide as an electric cord
My name might be David, but my singing never pleased the Lord
I tried my best, but all anyone can see
Is my heart as I carry it on my sleeve
I sometimes think the world would be better off without me
Like this bag of m&ms will disappear after I eat
But if I was gone, well somebody else would grieve
Because all they'd have left, are the memories
Author's Notes/Comments:
I was bored one day, so I decided to try to write a poem that incorporated song names, artist names, or a creative way of inserting references to a lyric in a song. No, I wasn't high! :-)
