I asked for strength
that i may be strong
I wouldn't want to cry
for it made me weak
but how i wish to empty out
all the pains that deeply cut

wish for happiness
that never ends
wish for tenderness
that do not exist
Let the tears flow
Let the heartaches go
Let the flame die down
Just let go to be true

I prayed for strength
Now I pray for peace
I prayed for endurance
Now i asked for freedom
I prayed to undertand
Now i pray to be understood
I prayed for togetherness
Now I pray for wholeness

Oh will I ever understand
the works of Thy hands.
