Epigram On Unexpected Criticism
[after Matthew 7:1]
Shallow, whom I once looked upon as deep,
you think that when my eyes are closed in prayer,
during our worship, that I am asleep---
false and self-righteous witness that you bear.
Because I do not often pray aloud
(like those who are both ignorant and proud;
or act as if Christ cannot quite draw near,
or that He went deaf in at least one ear),
you guess that I have taken a quick nap.
But, Sister, your opinion stinks like crap.
Consider Christ's advice, that has not budged
from Scripture---thus: Judge not, lest ye be judged.
