ABSTRACT POEMS

                           In the libraries.

They take a look at things besides books.

They try not to get hooked.

In the shelves, that's where they delve.  That's where they dwell.

They wait until there's nobody around.  They don't want to get found.

In the parks late at night, out of sight.

                The cafes, the coffee shops.

                    They talk.  They walk.

They live in fear, that somebody will hear.

They want to rise.  They want the ultimate prize.

They want to spread their wings.

Freedom songs they want to sing.

They're not blind, but they want to see.

                     They want to be free.
