TRAVELING

COUNTRY POEMS

This car is not getting far.

I went down a highway the wrong way.

The wrong ramp, at this I am not a champ.

My lights were out; this was not a delight.

           The exit wrong.

Left is right, right is wrong, I go on singing my song.

I will make it plain.  I am going insane.

You see, I am not where I thought I would be.

I almost crashed into a tree.

A different town; a different city.

           Where things are not pretty.

I got lost; a ship in the sea tossed.

Left is right, right is wrong, I go on singing my song.

This train is going the wrong way down the track.

I am having a heart attack.

           Where are we going next?

I am not knowing.  I am perplexed.

           I took the wrong plane.

It went the wrong way through space.

It landed at a different place.

Left is right, right is wrong, I go on singing my song.

I got distracted, and I was impacted.

All the thoughts going through my head.

Today, why oh why, did I get out of bed?

           I am going to cry.

No more, do I want to try.

Oh, left is right, right is wrong, I go on singing my song.

Yeah, left is right, right is wrong, I go on singing my song.
