I click on my computer screen

And start to check my messages -



I find one worth reading -

Someone wants to talk to me



Me! Of all people, that's odd

So I respond to this person



And then I end up talking with him

On the phone

Non-stop



Spilling my heart out to him

My darkest secrets

My thoughts, emotions



And he confides in me

Then click

I know something's happened



My brain clicked

And I'm in morbid mode again

I can't believe I let myself- my guard-

Down for this stranger



But then when he tells me something else-

And click- I'm in my caring mood

Maybe I CAN trust this stranger

Who doesn't even seem strange to me one bit



I see something in this person

I CAN trust him

And to think,

If I hadn't responded to his message

And just blew him off-



I wouldn't have known such

A wonderful person



And it's amazing

How something simple

Even just a few words on a screen



Can give you a friend you'll

Never forget.
