Kick

A whimper

A scream

Garbled words

This is what you see

This is what you hear

You don’t know

     The fear

     The terror

You don’t know

     How hard I try

     To get away

     To wake up

You don’t know

     How haunted

     I really feel

Not only in sleep

     But wakefulness too

Please don’t judge

     Or think less of me

I only need me

     To do that
