Suddenly it is upon me.

Quick like a cat pouncing on prey

My stomach is tightening

Woosh…exhale

     Air pours out in a rush

Only then do I realize

     I was holding my breath

Something powerful in my chest

     Squeezing, tightening

So deep, deep, overwhelming

I have no control

I can’t help it, can’t stop
