She expects so little from him,
but wants nothing but the future for him.
He dreams of letting go,
falling down a dark rabbit hole.
He wants to be free from her clutch on his mind,
to be free from that dark wonder he is falling into,
but little does he know how much she truly cares.
Little does he know that what she does,
she does for his happiness and safety.
She may not know how to treat him in such a manner,
but she knows not that she holds the key.
What key?
The key to his heart, soul, and joy.
She is scared to lose him,
fears for death,
fears it will be all her fault.
For it may happen,
since it happens to all,
but she fears it will be by his own gun
or rope as she sits there, wondering why.
He does not know of her fears,
lashes out trying to tell her he is not well,
tries to ask for help without feeling weak,
and without saying those four dreaded words.
How does one say that they see death everywhwere?
How does one tell the ones they love,
that he is being caged in a dark forest?
How does one say that they want to die?
The answer, they don't.
They keep it inside till they can no longer bite their tongue in silence.
But it is fine, he is not alone.
He has friends in their own cages to.
Slowly they are helping each other be freed from the rusted shackles that bound them.
Slowly they are beginning to bleed away all fear from not beeing accepted,
as they learn to accept themselves.
Slowly they are painting a rainbow over the rabbit hole,
and climbing their way out.
She has no reason to fear,
now that he is not with her.
He is in a happier place where he is not in pain,
but standing strong leaning on his new friends as they lean on him,
holding each other up though they cannot do so on their own.
