Locked in a tower, so far away.
Stolen at birth, forever to stay.
Men come and go,
to terrified to try and slay the demon within,
or too selfish to care.
She is not pretty enough,
not smart enough,
not woman enough.
She trains day and night,
hoping to get it right.
Her efforts,
waisted.
Her time
drained.
Her heart,
shattered.
Who knew a home could be so dark, and so cold?
The time has come.
The day has arrived.
The hour is now.
"Slay the beast, and you shall be free,"
she only dreamed.
She has never seen the sunlight,
the outdoors,
the freedom.
Then he showed up.
She thought he killed the beast,
but he mereley put it to sleep.
She was free to live,
to love,
to do as she pleased, or so she thought.
The prince left her,
the demon came back,
but this time, he wasn't alone.
Many demons trapped her in an even smaller dungeon,
with less light,
less freedom,
less of herself to widdle away.
She was okay with the one,
for she knew his every weakness and trained just for him.
Now there is many more demons,
and many more victims.
She never knew
how lonely she could feel
in such a crowded room.
