The First and True Love
Alex opened her eyes and recognized the ceiling. She was at her home. For a brief moment, she tried to remember how she got there after last night. She turned around to watch herself at the mirror and noticed that her makeup was still on, but now making her look like a raccoon. Alex grabbed the blanket to cover herself to get something to eat. After turning to the other side of the bed and looking to a very handsome guy still sleeping, she smiled. She went to the kitchen, after taking her cellphone and lighting a cigarette, she dialed the 10 numbers that she learned by heart at the age of 10. It was Danielle, her best friend since they were kids.
–Hello?- Danielle´s sleepy voice answered
–Hey! Oh my god! What happened yesterday? I woke up and realized that the hottest guy you could ever meet is in my bed!-.
-Don’t you remember? I tried to convince you not to go with him, but you didn’t listen to me-.
–And it was one of the best decisions! He is gorgeous!-.
–Well, Alex, I’m asleep, can we talk about this in a while?-
-Mmm, sure, just call me when you wake up, bye!- Alex hang up.
Although Danielle tried to sleep again, she was already up. In a gently way she gave a kiss to his boyfriend Roger to wake him.
-I´m worried- she finally said. -Since Josh died Alex hasn´t been the same-. Roger turned around and kissed her, although he did not like Alex, he also was worried about her. –Why you say that?- he asked. –Well, since the car accident she hasn´t talk to me like she used to and now she sleeps around with any guy that she meets-. Roger sighed, it was one of the reasons he does not like Alex, he thought that she was a bad influence to his girlfriend. –Well, why don´t you talk to her? – he finally suggested. –I tried to, but she changes the subject or doesn’t listen to me. I think I’ll call the girls to go out with her tonight, I think she has been feeling lonely-. –Okay, just take care-.
After the man left, Alex decided to go shopping; she does not like to be by herself after the accident. She was the toughest of all her girlfriends and the accident would not change that, she though; but that does not mean that she can’t cry when she is alone, so that was the reason that she does not like to be unaccompanied, because that is when she missed him the most, Josh was his first and true love.
Alex was really excited after the call of Danielle inviting her to go out in a girl’s night out, Danielle finally had some time to be with her and not with her stupid boyfriend, she though. She decided that this night will be a night that no one would forget. It was 10:15 and they decided to meet outside the new club named “Oasis”. Although Alex did not mention to Danielle, she knew that the reason Alex does not want to go to their favorite club was because it reminded her about Josh. They do not have any problem getting inside, they never had, and Alex knew that because they were 5 very good-looking girls; and beautiful girls never have difficulty to enter to a club. Once inside the club, Alex did not hesitate to run into the bar and ask for shots for the girls. –This is going to be a very good night!- she yelled and drink her shot. After the fourth shot Danielle started to worry about her –Take it easy Alex- Danielle recommended, but of course Alex ignored her. After countless shots, Alex was not feeling okay, but she does not said anything to keep the party going, until she passed out while everyone was too drunk to even noticing her.
After what could be minutes or even hours, Alex felt a cold hand grabbing her shoulder and when she turned over she recognized the angelical voice of Josh talking to her, she began to cry and kiss him, -I miss you so much- she kept repeating. –Alex stay with me, we are going to the hospital- Danielle´s voice sound interrupting her dream. –No, let me go with him- she stuttered. After arriving to the hospital and the doctors declaring that there was nothing they could do, Alex died at 5:06 a.m.
