Dupilcated, too many times over-
Stark, yet poignant in their plainness,
They stand there, stoic,
In an endless sea of white.
Bearing names of our champions-
Brave men, brave women,
Who made the utmost sacrifice,
For what we have, and know, today.
Spread across acres, both hilled and flat,
As far as the tearful eye can see-
Our horizon lie not at the end,
But in what they attained for us all.
The called them, Revolutionaries,
Patriots, Yankees, Rebels, GI,
GI Joe, Veterans,
Warriors, Freedom Fighters...
So many titles through time,
Yet, they were one in the same.
Call them what you will-
But they are heroes, all.
The legacy of America,
Lie not simply in the symbol of our great Flag-
But in the heroic souls who fought for it.
Those who willingly, died for it.
In an endless sea of white,
Who's tide is ever-changing,
May we never forget those who lie in Arlington,
Who calmed the turbulent waters, of our ages.
