Headlines boldly state,
'ANOTHER CHILD IS MISSING!'
'DROUGHT THREATENS CROPS!'
'ANOTHER WAR LOOMS AHEAD!'
'FIRE DESTROYS THOUSANDS OF ACRES!
'MANY KILLED IN SUICIDE BOMBING!'
'EARTHQUAKE! MANY FEARED DEAD!'
Every newschannel reports the same distress.
In every corner of the world
is turmoil, famin or disaster.
Bombs and terrorists and unspeakable, cowardly acts
are heard almost on a daily basis.
In the midst of it all...
I pray.
To an 'unseen' God, some say.
But I see Him everywhere.
In everyday occurances.
Sunrise, sunset, moonbeams and rainbows.
In the remission of my disease.
In the cry of a newborn.
In the birth of a flower.
In every 'unseen' headline.
The ones that aren't widely reported.
The woman cured of her cancer.
The child who was found.
The person who recieved a new heart, kidney
or gained the gift of sight from a generous donor.
The life that was resuced from a blaze.
I need not 'see' Him to believe.
I need not 'see' Him to know He is there.
For I look to my faith
and I need not look any further.
He is there.
He is all around.
You need not open your eyes, but your soul.
People put too much on Him.
Lay too much blame at His feet.
It's easier to do that than recognize
where the evil lies
or to do anything to change it.
As long as time has been,
so has good and evil.
It's in the giving up, the easy blame,
the loss of faith that strenghthens evil,
that tears apart unity,
brotherhood, love, caring and faith.
The old saying runs too true for some,
"I have to see it to believe it!"
The definition of faith speaks plainly enough to me-
Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness
of a person, idea, or thing.
The belief in the unseen, the unknown without question.
There lies faith.
I look to my faith and He is right there.
In every one of my children,
in every living thing,
in EVERY breath I take.
