Feeling it's rays upon my face,
coming from way up high.
A burning ball of orange fire,
suspended in the sky.
It warms across your skin,
heats up your very core.
Lighting down upon the earth,
till evening, when it shines no more.
Giving off it's energy,
helping everything to grow.
Shining through light Spring rains,
melting winter snow.
Our lives revolve around it,
when its setting and rising.
Filling the backdrop with colors,
across the distant horizon.
Its been doing this since time began,
and its job is never done.
This brilliant firery mass,
the life sustaining sun.
