Summer Vacation Blues

Funny, Ha, Ha School is almost out,
and I've no place to hide.
It wouldn't be so bad,
if the kids just stayed outside!
But in they come, with all their friends,
grubbing drinks and snacks.
From the first day that school let's out,
I count the days till they go back!
My house turns into a hangout,
there's kids here every day.
Think I'll book a flight,
and make my get-away!
They eat us out of house and home,
then complain when there's no more!
Heck...we shouldn't live in a house,
...but in a grocery store!
But at least I know where my kids are,
and that they're safe at home.
So I'll just dream of September,
when back to school they'll roam!
