Until The Angels Close My Eyes

Someday I will die,

its just a fact of life.

So I'll not worry over that fate,

it only gives me strife.

I'll go on day by day,

always hoping for the best.

Enjoy every waking moment now,

for later there's plenty time to rest.

See things that I haven't seen,

do things I haven't done.

Run barefoot in a rainstorm,

watch a western rising sun.

Play hide-and-see in the dark,

rock grandchildren off to sleep,

climb up to the top of a mountain,

view the ocean deep.

I refuse to just wither away

waiting for death to finalize.

I'll see, what's left of my life, through,

until the angels close my eyes.
