When They Talk About Collisions

We talk a lot

But I don’t think we say much,

We let our looks collide

In lost conversation and

In arguments we both miss,

It’s only when we evaluate the damage

That we truly weigh the cost

—I’m overdue

But I don’t show it,

I trail in the wake

But I don’t control this,

When they talk about collisions

They don’t talk about the crash,

They like to talk about the future

When they reconcile the past ,

When they talk about collisions

They don’t like to let it last

They keep it short

And let it bust like broken glass
