Mr. Staphylococcus Epidermidis was a normal bacterium, he went to work everyday and he enjoyed it. He worked in a company called “Skin”. It was a nice company, he had a lot of friends and lots of benefits like getting there whenever he wanted. He considered his work to be his home. He referred to his company as a magical place, because it was the place where he met his wife: Mrs. Staph, a beautiful and brilliant bacterium. Both, Mr. and Mrs. Staph, had one simple duty in their work, to be at Skin and if Skin was blessed or destroyed by any type of weapon, they had to create a biofilm in any catheter or prosthetic device that was introduced into this other huge company called “Body”. So, the only way they could enter to this magnificent and gorgeous company Body was when Skin was damaged. They have heard about Body when they were very little, the ancient Staphs told them that Body was the most amazing place to be, it was full of other bacteria, full of parties and they could even get to win more money there than working at Skin, in addition to this they wouldn´t have to fight the powerful Sun everyday.

One day Mr. Staph told his wife that if he had the chance he was more than ready to colonize Body. Mrs. Staph was a little bit concerned because she had heard of the amazing things that Body had, but she had also heard about the dangerous things that could happen if you were detected. She warned him about Novobiocine, this was Body´s guard. Novobiocine was known for killing thousands and thousands of Staphs, so Mr. Staph was risking his life trying to enter Body. But Mr. Staph was to old for listening to his wife´s complaints. They had a huge fight and they split, Mr. Staph went to “Skin- Right Arm” and Mrs. Staph went to “Skin-Left Arm”. And they no longer met again.

One day Mr. Staph was sleeping at Skin when he heard that a knife damaged it. It was his change for getting in there, so he did. He entered and traveled through the blood stream, a red pool that was full of other Staphs, it was the Promised Land. The ancient Staphs didn´t lie to him. He went as fast as he could to the heart, a red big organ that was inside Body, it was one of the main control centers of it. And he started creating his famous biofilm in the catheter that was located in the heart.

He partied there for a couple of days, even for a week. He was the happiest bacterium in the whole Kingdom of Bacteria. But not everything lasts forever, and after two weeks Novobiocine came to Body to kill all the intruders that came in when Skin was damaged. Novo started killing one by one all the Staphs that were in body. Mr. Staph was really nervous, he regretted entering body, he felt so sorry that he didn´t listen to his wife and that his life was almost about to end. Novobiocine saw Mr. Staph, and he approached him, Mr. Staph couldn´t move due to the biofilm that he had made, he was stick to the heart catheter and there was no way he could scape him. Novo fired his gun and killed Mr. Staph.

The next day some Body´s workers rebuilt Skin. They did a fast and efficient job. In Skin every Staph was wearing a black suit because of the losses they just had during the last accident. Since then, every single Staph that has a good life don´t risk it for some dream that it´s not a 100% to become true.
