“Capturing the Essence of Life”

Every time that I think about my father it comes to my mind his old black camera. It brings me a lot of memories and makes me smile wherever I am. My father is so attached to it because it is part of his life; he has had it since he was young, immature, and audacious; pretty much like 21 guy. He started working at the age of 18 in a News Channel in Ecuador and that is how he got interested about cameras. One particular characteristic about my father is that he wants to capture every moment in a picture, and I certainly think that he can. This old black camera is the oldest thing that we have in our house, and I think that if you see it, the first thing that would come to your mind is the World War I, because it is archaic, it really is. Nevertheless, we have had lots of great moments with it. Once my family and I went to Tampa for vacations. We were so excited because it was the first time that we have been there. My brother and I started looking for the highest and fastest roller coaster in the Busch Gardens Park. We found it and we wanted to get on that amazing roller coaster but my father wanted to take a picture before getting on it. As I said, every single thing that you can think of, he wanted to capture in a photo. We didn´t have enough time and he couldn´t find it so we went to the roller coaster, and that´s when my father got lost in the park. The most amazing thing is that he managed to get out of the park by using the photos that he had taken. This camera has been to several different countries and I think that it has travelled more than what takes the humpback whale to get from the North Pole to the warm coasts of Ecuador. And I know for sure that my father has captured at least one humpback whale in his life. It´s a really special object that has a place in our family because we know that if we want to remember about good moments, we have just to watch the photos and the stories that it has to tell us. Life is too short and we really don´t think of the amazing and beautiful moments that we´ve lived. If we all have an old black camera that could capture our happiness in every single day, I know for sure that every single human being will be enjoying life.
