Well I didn't mean to hurt you

and I didn't mean to make you cry

and I didn't mean to love you that much



and it isn't that I'm choosing

and it isn't that you're losing

I was never meant to stay right there



and sometimes in your life

you have to make that choice

that never comes along again



So what did I do but make that choice for ME and not you

and did I ever realize, the tears that filled in your eyes

again



I just need you to know

if there's someone I love

that no one compares to you



and if it wasn't for me

then maybe you'd be

a little better off then now



But still in my heart I know your love for me is true

and believe me when I say from my heart I am sorry I hurt you
