Profiles of people
Under governments
Iron paw
Every feeling
Suffocated
With tons of pills
As seen on TV
Buy but don’t sell
Except your soul
To the bank
Political rallies
With casualties
Collateral damage
Of human brain
Wasted hours
Under covers
Of depression
Caused by
Oppression
Point a finger
But who to blame
Give your vote
For bigger constructions
That nobody need
For war overseas
In the name of
Democracy
That closed
Public kitchens
Shelters
Hospitals
Schools
And libraries
Reformation of
Institutions
That don’t make
Profit
Scapegoats on
Every corner
Target on every
Forehead
Judged without
Process
Killed before you
Even know
Who cares when
There is no milk
Or food for babies
Who can hear cries
And calls for help
Behind parliament
Doors
In leather chairs
With fat bellies
So I wrote
Statement
Get on stage
And hit hard
They can try
