I followed the stream

down to the bay

I looked at the moon and then I held it

Until a cold, black cloud

came and took it away

but I swear by God I really felt it

And it made me

sad to think it had to go

Am                     E

and leave me here all alone

I really wish I had a home

but as for now I've got to roam



So I followed the river

down to the sea

I felt the north star following me

crying take me home

oh, take me away

so I led it downstream to the bay



and I said

This is where the moon once shone

its time to now make it your own

I'm really glad you found a home

but as for me I've got to roam

wish I had a place to rest my bones

wish I wasn't stuck in the great unknown

I really wish that I wasn't alone
