The World loves to see you smile,
“Boy, show those pretty teeth!”.
The World loves hearing your vocals,
“Boy, I ain't know you could sing!”.
The World loves material things,
“Boy, you fly than a MOTHER-”.
The World can't see the pain
Which resides deep under.
I wonder if they understand
We've been living in Hell.
Waking up poverty-stricken,
Fatherly figures in jail.
Tell Our women don't dwell
On their problems,
Place faith in God,
Trust Him to solve’em!
But when praises went up,
He was deaf to the volume?
Being lulled with the scriptures,
Felt more to me like embalming.
If He is King then how come we,
Can't get any correspondence?
I mean how could You NOT
Hear me when I cried for help?!
Jumped after classes & practice,
robbed, & beat with my belt?
You couldn't tell me these nurseries
Did't mean me well?
Reading kids fairy tales
While redirecting the family's wealth.
Corporate orgies orgasm
With quarterly rise in sales,
Leeching Grandmomma's pockets
Prescribing "It's best for her health”.
Asked myself,
“If God loved us, then why He left?”
Asked the pastor,
Who blamed this pain on Adam & Eve,
Asked my parents,
“Don't question God!”
Then bent me over their knee.
Searching for answers to my questions
And yet no one seemed
To know until I checked my ancestry
Of Dynasties and Kings...
The World loves to miseducate,
“Boy, you made straight A’s”
The World loves it's new slaves,
“Your boy is so well behaved.”
The World loves those who blindly obey,
“Boy, you do as I say!”
But I'm a God amongst boys
Trying to help men escape.
I'm a King amongst the common;
A lion amongst lynx.
Trying to elevate minds
So we don't go extinct.
Trying to shine Light
While they play hide-n-seek,
Awaken the paralytic
From their systemic sleep.
Cleanse our temples of
Knavish New World beliefs,
To teach of Truth The World
Has kept hidden
underneath...
