Today is a special Day.
I got out of my bed. I just knew that to day is going to be one of those special days. When I say special I mean this will be a day when nothing will go wrong. My first wish is for you all to share and take pat in this day of all days.
Saturdays are mainly a bind. One must do the weekend shopping at the store Saturday is also the day where beer is sold cheaper. Please do not ask me how many people buy beer on Saturdays. The trolleys are filled with three, four or five crates of beer. I have stopped asking myself who is going to drink so much beer.
Much to my surprise today no one is buying beer. I walked comfortably around the store choosing my groceries without the usual hassle and tassel of dodging trolleys laden with beer. The young lady at the cash desk gave me a smile that if I was not happily married I am sure I would have used all of my charm to ask her for a date. Driving home my chauffeuse remarked on how little traffic was on the road. I was now sure that the powers that be had arranged this Saturday to make me a contented happy human being without all of my usual grumbles and groans about inconsiderate persons that are always in a flaming hurry. No one bumped into me all when turning or changing positions on the road gave their signals in time for my wife to be happy for a change with all of the other road users.
My wife drove into the garage. I took our shopping from the boot of the car and locked the garage. The shopping did not seem as heavy as it usually does. This was certainly a good day.
My chauffeuse cooked my lunch it was an Italian dish called lasagne, one of my favourites. After lunch I will creep into my bed and regenerate my batteries. I have this feeling that I must be extra fresh for this evening. I am so certain that we will have a visitor calling on us. A much awaited visit from a good friend. I checked the wine store again, two full boxes of wine and one box started. Tea and coffee is always on hand and my lovely wife can concoct wonderful little dishes with practically nothing. Yes today is one of those special days. I wish that you could all join us. It is so long since we had a full house where singing and dancing to the music of my collection of gramophone records some are even older than my wife and I.
I have warned all of my neighbours that there will be a little more noise than is normally the case. All smiled and wished us both a wonderful evening. Today is really a special day. I wish for many more am I expecting too much. I think now that is all for now from your scribbler Bern.
