Marihuana.
Trouble is brewing in Fairyland. One can feel that something is radically wrong. The Trolls are behaving very badly even among themselves they are quarrelling. I was asked to find out what was wrong in Fairyland. One day walking through the woods I smelt smoke not from a burning fire but from a cigarette. No one smokes here in Fairyland and I was very curious to see who it was that had lit a cigarette. I could see no one but the smell remained. A smell that was somehow familiar. Later on my walk I noticed some Trolls it was they that were smoking.
I hid behind a tree and watched as one of them took a small bag from his pocket and rolled a cigarette. Lighting the cigarette he passed it on to the others in the group. All smoked the one cigarette and I decided to ask them why they were smoking. As I approached they were laughing and seemed to be in very high spirits. It was then that I recognised the smell they were smoking hashish. Hashish is not allowed in Fairyland and I wondered where the Trolls had got their marihuana or hashish from.
I sent word around to all of the Fairies to be on the look out for hashish. The birds too could keep an eye on what goes on around them and I got the birds to be on the look out for forbidden hashish plants. Word soon got back to me that north from the old oak tree someone had planted a small hashish plantation. Accompanied by a few Leprechaun friends I went to the plantation and we set about destroying all of the hashish plants. Drugs in Fairyland are only used in the Maternity Ward or in the Hospital; even then it is only the Doctors that are allowed prescribe the use of drugs.
To say that the Trolls were wild about the destruction of the hashish plants would be to put it mildly they got their own back by destroying everything that the Fairies had worked so hard to produce and colour. Her Majesty on hearing about the hashish plantation and of myself with Leprechauns destroying the plantation gave to every Fairy a pocket full of magic dust. And Trolls caught smoking were to be sprinkled with the magic dust. All future attempts to grow such plants were to be foiled by throwing the magic dust over them.
The birds and the Fairies were now on the look out for any such hashish plants. Whenever the birds saw hashish they would tell the Fairies who went with the magic dust. The Trolls were now very angry and they planted their hashish well away from Fairyland. The Trolls still smoke the occasional hashish cigarette but it is certainly not grown here in Fairyland. The magic dust has worked quite well and the Trolls have taken to smoking their cigarettes in the privacy of their homes. I wonder if it the hashish that makes the Trolls look so ugly and quarrelsome. Bern
