Disappearing Fairies.
Something very strange is happening in Fairyland. Fairies are disappearing for a few moments to reappear without knowing where they had disappeared. It is difficult to speak to someone that disappears every now and again and even the Fairies are worried that they will disappear and not come back again. I went with the Fairies as did their daily tasks but I could find nothing that would show why they were disappearing like they were. The next thing I noticed the time of their disappearing became longer and longer. First it was only a few seconds now they were disappearing for ten minutes and even longer.
Her Majesty Queen Feeanna was abroad attending a conference. I could expect no help from her and decided to report the matter to the Professors at the Fairy University. A team of Professors arrived and studied the Fairies they too could find no reason as to why the Fairies were vanishing for periods of time. One thing that I did notice was that the Fairies all came back looking healthier most had signs of sunburn. Some even were quite brown from sunshine in fact I began to envy the tan of their skins. I myself do not stay too long in the hot sunshine as my skin just turns red and sunburn is very painful.
It was the birds that told me what was causing the Fairies to disappear. The birds had been watching the Fairies very closely after I asked them to keep an eye open for anything unusual. A certain mushroom that gave off a cloud of tiny powder when trodden on was causing the Fairies to use magic sending them off to North Africa. The Fairies were breathing in this powder after treading on the mushrooms and under the influence of the powder they were using unconsciously magic to send them off to a warm climate.
After hearing this from the birds I went looking for these mushrooms they were to be found all over Fairyland. The powder was really the seed from the mushrooms. I decided to tread on one of the mushrooms to see what would happen. For a few seconds after breathing in the whitish powder I unconsciously took out my magic wand. A present to me from Her Majesty Queen Feeanna, Queen of all the Fairies for my help in solving some of the problems that occasional occurred. The next thing I knew I was standing under some date palm trees. It was very hot. I saw some Arab people. Waving my hand to them I found myself back in Fairyland on Dartford Heath.
My next move was to warn the Fairies not to step on the mushrooms and certainly not to breath in the white powder. The Fairies are now extra careful and since then no one has disappeared again. Bern.
