A Fairies Tail.

Something very strange has happened in the Fairy Maternity Ward. After a difficult birth a baby is now in the world with of all things a long bushy tail. The Doctors are all baffled nothing like this has ever happened before. Calls were made to the Fairy University; Professors came to examine the baby and all were agreed that nothing like this had ever happened before not in all of the Fairy History. Both the Mother and the Father were examined nothing out of the ordinary was to be found both Parents were healthy with no abnormalities. The professors returned to their University other experts from abroad came to examine the child. All were baffled there was no reason for the Fairy Baby to have such a bushy tail.

Many talks and discussions as to what should be done took place. Should the child have the tail removed by surgery? Some said it was all right to remove the tail others that no one knew how it would affect the baby if the tail was removed. Days and weeks went by and no one was happy about the tail. I say no one but as the baby grew older it was not only proud but also pleased to have such a tail. The baby grew old enough to attend the Fairy Infants School. Special garments had been sewn so that the tail was covered but the child always found a way to make a hole in its clothes so that its tail hung free.

The novelty as the child with the tail attended his first day at school was very difficult for the child’s Teachers. The other children were delighted whenever the child with the tail swung its tail to and fro. Each swing caused the class to break out into peals of laughter. The Teachers were not at all happy with things as they were and forbid the child to swing its tail while in the classroom. Children I am happy to say have a mind of their own and if something the teacher was telling them was interesting the tail would swing like mad causing all of the children to roar with laughter.

The Teachers next complained to Her Majesty that it was nearly impossible to hold normal lessons because of the tail and the merriment it caused among the other children. The complaints from the Teachers were so serious that Her Majesty decided to do something about it. Without telling the child with the tail what was to happen Her Majesty waved her magic wand and spoke in the old Fairy Language. From that day on the tail slowly got smaller and smaller until one day it could no longer be seen. The child grew into a normal Fairy and only occasionally would she shake her backside as if she was wagging her tail. Soon all forgot about the child with the long bushy tail and I am pleased to say that no more Fairies were born with such a long bushy tail. Bern
