Sour Milk
Today’s bottle of milk was sour. I had opened the fresh bottle delivered early this morning by the Milkman. Normally I have no complaints the milk is always fresh. My morning cup of tea as I poured the milk into it became full of whitish flakes a sure sign that the milk is off. I walked to the dairy to ask for a replacement I needed my milk not only for my cups of tea but also for my morning cup of coffee. At the dairy the manager gave me a bottle of fresh milk. I walked back home happy that at least I could have my morning cup of coffee.
The following day the same thing happened my milk was sour. I got up early the next day to have a word with my Milkman. I told him about the milk being sour and of my having to go to the dairy to get a pint of fresh milk, The Milkman said, “It’s not my Fault all of the milk as it leaves the dairy is fresh.” He then asked me if a neighbour could be changing my fresh milk for some old milk that had gone sour? I could not believe this I knew all of my neighbours no, no one would do a thing like that. I decided to get up early the next day and hide in my front garden to see what was happening to my milk. This could not go on I needed my milk early in the morning.
The next day I set my alarm clock for five in the morning. Quickly washing and dressing I went and hid in my front garden behind a Hibiscus bush. I had a good view of the front door and the doorstep. The milkman came along in his electric float and placed a bottle of milk on my doorstep. I did not have to wait long before a bunch of Pixies came into the Garden. They went straight to the fresh bottle of milk and changed it for a bottle that they had brought with them. To say I was very annoyed would be an understatement. Quickly putting my hand in my pocket I took out a handful of Fairy Dust. I threw the dust over the Pixies and they all stayed in the same position. My magic dust had frozen them to the spot. I took the bottle of fresh milk into my kitchen made myself a cup of hot sweet tea. After drinking my tea I went into my front garden. The Pixies were still rooted to the spot and I decided to teach them a lesson. I filled a cup with the sour milk and made each Pixie drink from the cup. At the same time I caused a wind to blow away the magic dust and watched the Pixies faces as they tried to spit out the sour milk it was too late all had swallowed it and I watched the looks on their faces.
Then I spoke and told them that if my milk were replaced again with sour milk all of the Pixies would be sent to the South Pole. They would stay in the snow and ice for one whole year. The Pixies knew that if I made a threat I would keep my threat. They all rushed off home and my milk is now back to normal. Bern
