Was it the Pied Piper?

So peaceful was this school that I involuntary asked where are all of the children. Then suddenly the school hall was full of Parents, Mums and Dads all told the same story. Their Children were missing. No one had seen them going off. In fact all of the parents were under the impression that their children were at school. Where were the children one man took over and arranged for the parents to be arranged in groups the groups were to go together and look everywhere children do not disappear they must be somewhere it was only a matter of finding them. A bed-ridden woman could have told them where the children were. Her son had arranged a system of mirrors that allowed her to look out into the street. She saw all that came and went, her one pleasure was watching the children playing in the school yard

The Parents came back to the school after a couple of hours of extensive searching. The children were nowhere to be found. Some of the Mums broke down it was so unnerving at last one of the Mums called in the Police. The Police were just as mystified as the Parents One man joined the group and asked what was all the trouble about. Children vanishing in our day and age, I bet my Mum knows where they have gone. Two of the mothers went to the bedridden woman’s house. Oh! Yes she had seen the children they had gone off with the man that played the flute so well. Some of the children knowing of her system of mirrors had called out to her we are going to the theatre to see the Pied Piper of Hamlin. Our teacher is dressed up as the pied Piper, this

Is a special treat for us all. Now there was a mad rush to the theatre. The parents on seeing their children safe and happy watching the play on the stage found for themselves the odd seat and stayed to watch. One man after the curtain fell climbed on to the stage and blamed the teacher for not telling the children and their Parents that they were not going to be in school but in the theatre. The teacher took from his pocket a note that he told the man all of the children had been given. Special days outing for the schoolchildren for being such good scholars.. With today’s date written upon it. Now the man felt a right fool. The parents could not get much from their children the story of the pied piper was too interesting for them to take much notice of their parents and the teacher that played the Pied Piper was a very good player on that flute.

Back at the school not one of the children could say which teacher was the flute player. The other teachers denied all knowledge of the children being out of their classes. Were the Parents and Police having a joke at their expense? It seems that the only person that could throw any light on what really happened was the bed-ridden lady with her set up of mirrors. She swore that all of the children had followed this man playing a flute until they were out of sight of her mirrors. This leaves the question open does the Piper of Hamlin still exist must we be on the look out for this kidnapper of children. How will one know who is the real Piper, If we took away his pipes would that stop him from abducting children from school. How many children over the years have gone from school or not even gone to school have they met the pied piper and fallen for his weird music that children find so exhilarating that they blindly follow this piper. It is time that the World’s government do something about such a dangerous person. What do you think?
