Violence?

The dog was obviously a stray many people brought with them meat or a bone it did not go hungry. Most were afraid of the dog because it was well built and a German shepherd dog or Alsatian. Not so the children. I saw many a child stroking the dog some even hugged it and one young boy pulled its tail. The dog was used to children.

Many attempts to catch the dog and take it to the Animal Shelter, all attempts up until now had failed. This dog was clever and managed to get away from all of those that meant well with it.

One day an elderly woman walking down the street on her way to get in the weeks shopping was attacked by two men. One tripped the woman over while the other grabbed her handbag. Suddenly a shape ran to the woman’s aid, It was the large dog.

It bit the man with the handbag causing him to drop the bag the man ran off. His companion was laying flat on the ground with dog on top of him. Growling away at the man. People ran to the elderly woman’s aid. Picking her up they tried to coerce the dog away from the man on the ground.

The Police had been called and soon a Police car arrived. In the back of the Police car sat the other man that had run off. The two men were arrested and taken to the local Police Station. The big question now was what to do with the dog. One of the Policemen said that he would take the Dog with him and give it a good home.

The Policeman kept his word and not that stray was a well-groomed dog complete with a dogs collar. It followed its new friend everywhere he went. Children were part of his new life. The young Policeman was married with two young children. When he was not with the Policeman he was to be found by the children. A better companion the children could not have.

The local Newspapers wrote a long article about this stray dog that many had thought was Violent. All were proved wrong the dog was protecting the old and the young. You might have seen the photo of the dog in the newspaper. I myself have cut out the Photo of the dog and it is now in one of my photo albums. Bern
