My Loves Sweet Name.

  • I write this poem for my love,
  • A flower prettier than a rose.
  • Placed on a pedestal high above,
  • She does not need to pose.
  • Hers is a beauty that strikes the eye,
  • She needs no artificial make up I know.
  • My love for her, here a deep sigh,
  • Her face is surrounded by a wonderful glow.
  • My heart beats to heavens time,
  • When I hold her in my willing arms.
  • I hear bells that rhythmically chime,
  • As I surrender to her lovely charms.
  • My sweet heart she will always be,
  • In this world and the next to come,
  • For me there will only be she,
  • That can make my heart beat like a drum.
  • I can only whisper her name,
  • To every little breeze that blows.
  • It returns a thousand fold I hear it just the same,
  • The breezes whisper Martha to my willing ears,
  • Again and again for that is my loves sweet name.
