A flock of coffee cups follow the mother coffee maker,
a flight of undergarments sweep through, a snapping flat
iron resurrects from below. A wisp of hissing belts squirm
forth, and a rattling toaster swings his cord tree to tree.
A wheeled sofa approaches with disgruntled passengers:
a fake plant, spinning dresser knobs, an elegant picture
frame, a scuffing boot, a knot of cords, a roaring blender,
a phone book, a cabinet door, balancing dishes....
"'[The] clothes and debris were piled 6 ft. high,'
said Police Chief Terry Davenport of the Shelton
Police Dept.' Officers were having to climb over
the top on their hands and knees. In some areas, their
heads were touching the ceiling [...].' After 10 hours
of searching, officers discovered the woman's body."
