May I Have This Dance

Atop the balcony upon which you stand

Dressed purely in white

Silhouetted by the moon

On this cold winter night

Taking your gloved hand

I slowly guide it to my lips

I have fallen for you, at first glance

My love, may I have this dance?

Hand in hand, in a slow rhythm

We sway from side to side

Backlit by the moon

On this starry and cloudless night

Gently, I hold you in my arms

Wiping away any tears

I swear to you, you're safe from harm

You have nothing to fear

Be my angel, be my light

Be my candle through the night

For you, I have fallen at first glance

My love, may I have this dance?

Let us dance the night away

'Til dawn lingers upon the horizon

It is the start of a new day

And with it comes our time of parting

Promise me that we will meet again

And that I will see you soon

Love me 'til the very end

We shall dance again next moon
