Nothing ventured is nothing gained...
People who love, do love again...
That Love is eternal...
i have loved,
And CHOOSE to keep loving,
In spite of the chaos of parting ways,
Of petty arguements that steeped into rage...
Blown before all damage could have been prevented...
And being beyond a place where there is NO PLACE...
Of having any civil resolution.
i CHOOSE to keep my head held high...
That, on my part, i HAVE BEEN wrong...
Rushing into relationships with my eyes WIDE SHUT.
Making bad decisions to BE with people who...
Really don't respect:
Themselves,
Their families,
Their friends...
And i ignored the fact that their lack of ethic,
Would prevent them from LOVING ME......RESPECTING ME.
That they were really incapable of true love.
That in this, i was and am just as guilty as they are...
i didn't respect myself enough to know...
i COULD DO BETTER.
i AM BETTER THAN THIS DEGRADATION AND BELITTLEMENT.
TODAY...i start this journey.
TODAY...i start the healing process.
TODAY...i start making choices that RESPECT my being...
Whether my internal programming wants me to or not.
TODAY...in all my primary relationships,
i will fight my second nature.
Where i say, "i love you" first.
Because feeling the vulnerability hurts too much...
TO HEAR IT...TO LET IT SINK IN...
That overwhelm that comes from anothers mouth and heart...
When they say it, before I'm ready,
Before I can distance the hurt of my emotion.
Don't get me wrong
i do love...
i do care...
but if you've been hurt...you know...
That LOVE is not a warm cozy thing all the time.
It's worse than derogative four letter words at times.
People use it and abuse it,
Go through people like kleenex,
And they are oblivious that they are just trying to avoid...
THE SAME PAIN.
TODAY..things will be different.
TODAY..i will empower myself,
i will self-validate,
i will choose and take responsibility for my happiness,
i will make a home in my heart for me.
TODAY..the "i" becomes the "I".
