As sleep consumed me
I felt the bars of a cage lift
For in my dream I could be the true me
As again the bell chimes
Pulling me from it
The bars of my cage close
As they tighten more
A suffocation begins
One of my true being
The cage suffocated my soul
As a diamond waterfall forms
Feeling suddenly naked, exposed
To the words I came to hate:
She
Her
Daughter
Girl
Female
Woman
The words pointing at me
Mocking my wish to escape
My true male being screaming
To deaf crowds
From inside his cage of my body
As the taunting gender laughs in his face
Refusing to let him out
