Another Another Mother's Day is coming,
And once again, you're not here.
I can't just pick up the telephone
To tell you I love you, Mom, so dear.
I thought if I survived the first one,
The next would hurt a little less.
But time has never eased the sorrow,
Or filled the space your absence left.
I keep waiting for the pain to fade,
For the tears to finally dry.
But every time I think of you,
I still break down and cry.
I miss you, Mom, more than words can say,
More than anyone could ever know.
There are so many things I wish I'd said,
Before the day you had to go.
I long to feel your arms around me,
To see your smile upon your face.
To hear your voice just one more time,
And feel the warmth of your embrace.
But knowing I can't be beside you
Is a truth I struggle to face.
Some days it's hard to keep on living
In a world without your place.
They say that time will heal the heart,
But some wounds never disappear.
I just learn to carry the emptiness
Of wishing you were still here.
So on this Mother's Day, I'll whisper
The words I wish that you could hear.
I love you, Mom, I always will,
And I'll miss you every year.
Happy Mother's Day, Mom.
I love you.
