Intoxicated words of wisdom
From the old man
On the corner bar stool
He's been there
He's seen it all
He has goofy old stories
He loves to tell
We sit and we listen
To his stories from then
He slobbers round proud
Then he finishes them
A round of drinks
For the people he meets
He only wants somebody to listen to him
I haven't seen him in a while
I wonder if he's worn out
if he's dead right now
I won't forget
The look in his eyes
Happy but sad
He knows
And we know
That his stories are lies.
