The Singing of Birds

When the world was created there were all kinds of animals, like tigers, buffalos, giraffes, etc. Birds were the smallest of all and they didn’t had feathers so everyone tried to abuse of them, making them go for stuff they wanted, or persecuting them just for fun, they were the most bullied species of all the world. They sometimes just wished a bigger size and to run away easily from the other animals, but they were not either big or fast enough to get away. Even though they were bullied, birds were very loyal, if someone needed a favor they would do whatever they could to help. If a rhino wanted something that was on top of a tree, birds would offer to manage their selves to climb and help them get it. But it did not matter how much good they were, how much they helped, the other animals kept bullying and taking advantage of them, until the gods one day decided to give them a little help.

One day the gods gathered all the birds in existence and they said they would help them to stop their suffering of being bullied, so they offered to turn them all into another animal, a lion, an elephant, a giraffe, a gorilla, any animal they wanted, but birds decided they wanted to remain as birds, they didn’t wanted to become any other animal, they were so modest, they thank the gods for their help but they wanted to stay the same. So the gods said:

“As you are always willing to help everyone and sometimes it’s not easy to bear, we can give you wings, so whenever you want to fly away and escape from pressure, you will and no one can stop you and when you decide to help someone reaching something it’s easier for you.”

“That sounds great!” - All the birds said.

That’s when they started flying and could stay away from other animals that wanted to bother them. Also gods told them:

“As some of you are really little and when they bother or threat you, and can’t defend yourselves, but even though you are peaceful and never look for a fight by your own, we will make you bigger, so you can stand up for yourselves when it’s needed.”

As gods said, birds flew, with their spread wings through the air, crossing every corner they could. But as time passed, they change their way of being and learned there is more than helping others, becoming a little selfish, living their own life. But as a gift for the other animals remaining on the ground, birds sing every morning for them, reminding they still care and they wish their day begins with peace and harmony.
