Pride is what I feel
Whenever I am the real me
As this is the moment
For me to take flight and say
That I am who I am
As this is who I’ll always be
In the favor of not having
To please anyone but myself
I’m bringing my own smiles
All to myself in this moment
Of knowing that I can be
All that I can be to be me
In the prideful feeling
Of knowing that I don’t have to
Please anyone
To pretend to be anyone
That I am really not
As that has been what
I have been doing all my life
For I am now forging onward
Down this prideful road
Of a million different colors
Of all that is beautiful
As I am walking down ahead
From when I have awakened
To get right out of bed
To know that there is nothing
Above all else for me to feel
The pride that is in me
As it’s not in anyone else
For I can make myself happy
To make myself whole again
As this is my life
That I will be living for me
As all the pain
Will come to subside
From pretending to be
Someone that I wasn’t
For so very long
As this is my moment and time
To shine brightly
With my own life to be lived
So lovingly with pride
