We are connected so deeply
And so beautifully strengthened
In the roots of which we have been
So lovingly planted
In the dirt of where
We have grown by any means
To what there would be
By the seams of what we have seen
With our own eyes
To be strengthened
Of what there could be
Of the love and hate
And to whatever it just might be
That we would happen to appreciate
In being strengthened
By the beauty that surrounds us
Whether we know it or not
Of the greatness that still exists
In some form
To make us feel strengthened
Even when there is
Absolutely nothing but the chaos
That can try to break us
And make us into something
That we most definitely are not
As we are strengthened
With all that we have got
In the hearts of who we are
In all that we can do to go so far
Into the distance of proving
That not only are those that would try
To bring us down are wrong
But that the road for us
That are paving the way for ourselves
And for all the others
That are just like us are long
In the beauty that we still possess
From inside of all of us
And to be strengthened
By the fact
That we will not be persuaded
To stray into the darkness
Of letting others keep us here
Down on the cold hard ground
Of where we will only grow stronger
To be strengthened
Even more than we ever were before
With all that there is still of the good
That we can still feel
Is so real to ourselves in this world
In the perspectives
Of all the colors that would
Fly through so lovingly
To be strengthened so beautifully
With the dreams and wishes
For something good to happen
Right about now
To be strengthened
So delightfully
For we will always be able
To carry on forever regardless
Of the obstacles that would try
To get in our way somehow
For we know that for those
That would tell us that we are wrong
Just for existing as who we are
And to be able to continue
Singing our song
We know for ourselves
In being strengthened
To be so continuously strong
That we will not be held down
For way too long
