"The Metamorphosis"

I hide away /From all that there is to offer / In order to find / My own inner peace / The true beauty within / Away from the limelight / The metamorphosis / The life of change / Where I’d surround myself / With nothing but the walls / Of the silence that I’d need / For one day / There will be a time / Where I will come out of my shell / And that / I will break down / The walls of silence / And shine brighter / Than I ever did before // I live each day / All wrapped up / In the hiding of my place / Which comforts me / As I’d sleep / But there will come a day / When all will be well / And the metamorphosis / Will bring me / All the way / Over to the other end / To where the limelight / Awaits me to return / And that the metamorphosis / Will get me back / To where I was / Only this time / In a new way and shape and form // I hide away / My butterfly wings / Waiting for the right time / For when the metamorphosis / Would let me go / And be on my way / To step back into the spotlight / And show off / All of my pretty colors / In the metamorphosis / That brings me back together / In one piece / In a new way and shape and form / To the gratitude / Of the metamorphosis / That re-invents me.
